in this lesson learners will focus on receptive skill of reading and sub skills gist reading for detailed i will start the lesson by brainstorming about the word ''memory'' after students finished . i will ask them . how do you remember things? what methods do you use to remember things ?i will ask students to look at pictures ,i will give ss time to look at the pictures ,Ss work in pairs to discuss the question ? after that they will move to pre teaching vocabulary throw making them check the meaning of some words ..like mental pictures-improve-responsibility -struggle--chunking -puzzles .after checking the meaning and discussion the idea of memory and how do you remember things . . i will put students into pairs to discuss the question .let them read the text ,ask Ss to say where in the text the technique is mentioned ..put them in pairs to answer the question ?put them in pairs to compare their answers before checking as class at the end i will ask ss to add the missing preposition look back at the text if necessary . check the answer in pairs

Main Aims

  • To provide gist,scan,and detailed reading practice using atext about memory in the context of ways to improve your memory

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of memory\mental\repeating\puzzles in the context of module 2 memory

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

After intering the class with asmile and greeting the learners .I will give them some general question about memory \hod do you remember things ?have you ever tried any of the methods to remember? how is your memory like? do you have agood or abad memory?

Pre-Reading vocabulary (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will limit some words from the passage for them then i will ask them to search about its meaning intheir mini Dictionary After that iwill give them a task before reading about which of the things below do you think improve your memory ?which dont help?before reading check the meaning of :responsibility \an expert\to pat \logical . Ss shoud read the text to check their predictions as i check the answers ,get Ss to read out the part of the text where the answer is found . i will put Ss into pairs to discuss the questions.

While-Reading/ (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask Ss to read the text and check your answers to eEX2 .i will give them time to read for more details , if they find any difficult words i will encourag them to complete reading to understand all the passage and dont make them stop reading ,i will make them read to check the answers of Ex2 .

Scanning (60 minutes) • for more understanding the topic

i will ask them to read again and mark the following sentences true\false compare your answers with apartner

detailed reading • increase Ss confidence and make them read for more details

Ask Ss to work together and decide what the missing preposition are . it can be helpful to put each verp into asentense to feel which prep sounds right if Ss are struggling or when they have finished ask them to read the tixt to find the answers .

free practice • give the learner the chance to practice new vocabulary ,

I will ask Ss which of the tips in the text would be useful in helping you to learn English ?will you try any ? SS discus their ideas in small groups before sharing them with the whole class
