Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Set the context of free time activities by talking about things you like and don’t like doing then focus ss on the pics. Ss match the pictures to the activities in pairs
Focus the Ss on the picture of Adele and ask ss what they know about her. Play a snippet of one of her famous songs and get the class to guess who the singer is.
Tell Ss they will listen to a podcast about Adele and they should listen and answer questions 1 & 2 as well as check what they know about her. Peer check, WGFB Ss listen to the second part of the recording and tick the things they hear. Peer check, WGFB
Ss now listen to the whole podcast and choose the correct answers. Give Ss a copy of the sentences and get them to first guess the answers (based on what they remember) then listen and check their answers. Peer Check, WGFB.
Ss discuss the question in pairs. Provide ss with the lyrics to one of Adele’s songs with a few blanks. Ss listen to fill in the blanks. Ss listen again and sing along with the song.
