Main Aims

  • To provide
  • To provide review, practice and clarification of target language that they are going to study is passive voice in the context of this is going to be done through three texts, each text is about a place which has been used by directors in order to shot movies in other words as a movie location

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of permanent, exhibition, inspire, equipment, aristocratic in the context of movie location

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

students will be asked some sets of questions on movie location and this will be done by asking them to look at some photos first

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

i will pre teach 5 words here in order to make it easier for students to understand the texts and then i will ask them to read the texts first to understand the concept and for the second time to fill in the blanks and answer the questions

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

they will be asked why all the words they used to fill in the blanks were in the past form and why do we use sentences that they have this form (passive form)

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

by writing some examples and their forms on the board and asking students to give me the meaning and the reason why we use this grammar i will teach them passive voice

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

students will be asked to go to page 142 of their books in order to practice the grammar that they have been taught

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

to give students restricted practice in using target language they will be asked to listen and write sentences on page 55 and at the same time they will practice sentence stress and passive voice

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students will be put in two groups and i will give each group some words and i ask them to write a paragraph and use at least three passive sentence in it
