Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask student( Do you like fiction stories as Cinderella,Dracula,Pinokyo ? why do you like it ,and why not? what's the best one for you ? tell me about it.) and discuss these questions with them.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

1- check the meaning of the verbs in the box(sleep-create- follow -give-find-drink-fall in love) elicit the meaning first ,then show the pictures if they don't know the meaning.2- ask students to find the past of the verbs from the text ,check the answer with them

Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

1 Tell the students to work alone to find the mistakes in the description of the films in the photos,then check with a partner . 2 Play the record to let them check their answer ,finally I check the answer with them.

Clarification (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I write on the board : Dracula lived in Poland . I elicit the meaning of this sentence from Ss through CCQs. I elicit the form from the Ss . To make the past simple negative we use, did+not+infinitive (v1) . Drill the whole negative sentence with them.

Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Tell Ss to work in pairs give Ss the gap fill handout to complete the sentences by the negative form for the wrong description on the films and write the correct description in positive form.For example,(Dracula didn't drink vodka,he drank blood) .

Semi-Controlled Practice (3-6 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Give Ss HO2 to make negative sentences from the positive ones.Work alone first ,then check in pairs ,finally I check the answer.

Free Practice (6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ask Ss to write about (what they did yesterday ,and what they didn't)give them example( I didn't sleep well,yesterday) . Give them time to write ,then let them discuss in pairs .Finally I ask them to tell me about their partner.
