Main Aims

To provide gist, scan and detailed reading practice using a text about Our digital world in the context of Technology and they are going to learn some information about the internet history.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide fluency speaking practice in a discussion in the context of technology and they are going to talk about the internet and its influence on their lifestyle.
Procedure (42-57 minutes)
- Show ss a picture about digital world and elicit them some questions about the picture
- Put students in pairs - Ask them to make a list of the positive and negative things about the internet with their partners. - Take WC feedback
- Give them a matching heading task and ask them to read the article and match the headings to paragraphs of the text. - Check their answers with partners. - Write the correct answers on the board and ask them to check their answers.
- ask them to read the article again and find some information about the dates, people and things which I give them. - Put them into groups and ask them to compare their answers. - Take a WC feedback.
- Put ss into groups - Give ss a HO which consists of 3 questions based on the article and they should discuss with their partners. - Take WC feedback about the questions.
