To provide clarification and practice of used to, be used to and get used to in the context of Sleep
Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist listening practice using a text about Habits in the context of Sleep
Procedure (37-49 minutes)
i will ask the students "do you have problems sleeping? why?" and continue talking about habits in the past.
I will give the students a matching handout and ask the sts to listen to the listening 41 and match the a-c sentences from the listening to the 1-3 phrases. check in pairs then giving or showing the answer key.
I will give the sts a fill in the gaps activity which is 5 sentences from the script of the listening 41, and i will ask the students to check in pairs and write the answers on the board.
I will explain the meaning of "used to" , "get used to" and "be used to" and explain the meaning with examples: “I’m used to working in a team”, “I can’t get used to driving on the right”, “I used to get up at six o’clock everyday” i will ask questions like "is it becoming a habit?,is it a familiar habit?, is it a habit in the past? I will play the listening 3.45 and drill the sentences with the students, whole class and individually then i will elicit or explain the forms to learners.
I will give the sts a hand out of 10 sentences, some of them are wrong and some right, i will ask the write which sentence is right and which is wrong and write the correct form if it's wrong. i will ask the students to check in pairs and monitor the sts. i will have a whole class feedback and try to find the errors, if it was necessary i will clarify the grammar again.
I will give the sts, the part b of the exercise that they were doing (right or wrong exercise), which is fill in the gaps with right forms of "be used to", "get used to" and "used to", i will ask the students to do the activity individually then check in pairs, i will monitor and delayed error correction.
