By the end of the lesson, my ss will have produced an email with compare and contrast alternatives in the context of pros and cons of different hotels
Procedure (26-37 minutes)
T starts the class with these questions: Do you travel a lot? for work or sightseeing? have you traveled for work or business? where do you stay when you travel? T leads ss to say hotel. then T asks what are the most important features of a hotel for business travel ss in pairs discuss about it. then each pair shares their ideas with T.
ss are given a text and a chart of pros and cons related to two hotels, they are also given slip of papers to write pros and cons on them .they are divided into two groups check their answers and at the end groups come to the board and stick their slips in front of each hotel . T give the answer key to each group to check if their answers are true or not.
ss are given three questions related to the highlighted lexis in the reading and they should decide if they are used for contrast,adding information or conclusion individually. ss check their answers with their partners and they nominate each other for answer of questions. and if necessary she covers the meaning of some words.
ss are given an email with gaps in it and they should complete them with compare and contrast alternatives that they learnt. they check their answers in pairs and then T gives the answers to them.
ss should write an email to their friend and include the purpose of their company for travelling and they are given description of two hotels so they should compare these hotels for their friends and tell them which one is suitable for their aim. ss stick their writing on the board and others start to read their writing and they choose their favorite . T monitors and finds the mistakes for error correction.
