Description

In this lesson plan students are going to learn some linker words to explain reasons throughout some exercises. Later in this lesson they will practice using functional language for giving reasons in a speaking activity. The lesson is student centered.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

* put them in pairs and give them different pictures related to the previous lesson * ask them to find the answers * check the answers

Test #1 (6-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Teach (10-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

* put them in pairs * give them a worksheet including examples of narrative tenses and one ex * elicit the answers * explain more if needed

Test #2 (6-7 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Free practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

*put them in groups * give each group a set of sentences * ask them to put them in any order and make a story of Frida Kahlo life * share their stories * listen to the audio to check if they were right or wrong * in pairs try to remember the real story
