Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Show them a picture of famous Turkish basketball player Hidayet Turkoglu - Pre-teach the word athlete by the previous picture - Elicit some questions about the picture and his daily life - Show them a picture of Denise Lewis an English athlete

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

- Pre-teach the word " heptathlon" by showing the picture - Drill the word with students - Give SS a text about Denise Lewis which consists many third person singular examples - Put them into pairs - Ask SS to find 3 activities which she does in her free time with their partners.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

- Ask them to highlight all third person singular examples in the text and tell the class. - Give SS a handout which consists of 6 gap-filling questions and put them into groups in order to fill the gaps . - Give SS the answers of the questions on a piece of paper and ask them to find the answers of that 6 questions from the text in the groups. -Giving them WC feedback

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

- Put SS into pairs and guess about their peers daily life. - Write 5 sentences about their peers then ask their partners 5 questions in order to check their previous sentences. - Ask some students to stand in front of the class and ask and answer about their daily life.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

-Put SS into groups and ask them to practice the conversation with their partners in their groups. -During the activity, I monitor them distantly and write their SS' common mistakes on a piece of paper. -Write some of their common mistakes on the board and ask SS to correct them.
