To provide students with practice for reading for gist and detailed information in the context of Shakespeare's tragic families.

To practice vocabulary about family and be able to use them to speak about their family.
Procedure (43-57 minutes)
Play a back to the board game
Ss are going to work in groups and fill in a family tree by using the words given to them. Explain the task and arrange ss in groups. Give materials Ss fill the family tree. Take w/c FB
Ss are going to walk around the class and ask and answer questions in vocabulary ex. 2 Explain the task. Give the materials Ss walk around and speak to each other Monitor and help ss
Write the word SHAKESPEARE on the board and ask students if they know who Shakespeare is and some of his works. Elicit ideas from the ss Ss work in groups and discuss the meaning of the words in ex 1 in reading Explain the task and give out the words to students Elicit the answers from students. Elicit prediction of the story by using the words they discussed.
Ss read a text about Shakespeare's tragic families and match the family to the diagrams of family tree. Ss read the text alone. Ss work in pairs and and do a matching exercise. Early finishers go and check their answers on the wall. Take w/c FB
Ss read the text again and do a true or false activity. Explain the task Give ss the material Ss do the activity Ss peer check with their left and right partner. Take w/c FB
Ss draw their family tree and exchange with their family trees with their partners and ask and answer questions about those family trees. Explain the task and model the example form my own family tree. Ss draw their family trees and speak about it with their partner. Monitor and help.
