Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show the photo and ask: 1. What do you think is happening? 2. Do you think the question is one that someone might really ask in this situation? Why (not)? PW 3. Have you ever been in a job interview? 4. What kind of questions did they ask? 5. Did you get the job? FB

While-Reading #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Read the article once very quickly and find out: 1. What is happening? 2. Is the question one that someone might really ask in this situations? Why? Ss share their answers Individual FB

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1. Ask: What do you do when you don't know the meaning of a word? What will happen if you always rely on online dictionaries on your phone? 2. Read the article again carefully, try to figure out what the words/phrases whose meanings you don't know might mean and how you think they are pronounced. (GW) 3. Look at the worksheet and match the pronunciations with definitions. (PW) Check your answers with the board.

While-Reading #2 (5-6 minutes) • To provide students with more detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

Answer the questions with a partner. WCF/individual FB!

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
