Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask Ss about some Qs in the previous listening lesson. Then I will write 2 sentences on the board. Adjective ( nice - difficult ) iPhone is nicer than Galaxy. iPhone is ' more difficult ' Galaxy.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will talk about adding modifiers before adjectives. a/ much - a lot - lots of - far b/ a little - a bit - slightly - marginally c/ almost - nearly - not quite d/ just p. 57 - 1

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning of the modifiers

I will ask for Ss thoughts about the modifiers meaning, I will hand them out a matching activity on the board. Ss check their answers in pairs. I will give FB on the board. P. 57- 2

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare Ss for using the modifiers in Speaking

i will hand them out an activity from the course book. I will ask them to answer it individually and check the answers in pairs. i will give them FB. P. 57 - 1

Free Speaking (8-10 minutes) • To use the modifiers in their speaking

I will ask Ss to choose one of their family members or friends and write 4 sentences using modifiers in p.57 - 1a I will ask them to discuss it in pairs. I will give Ss FB where they make errors.
