To provide practice and clarification of investing money, writing a blog, taking care of a pet, doing a sport, being a good driver, raising children in the context of giving expert advice( Family)
Procedure (37-45 minutes)
Give them a brief introduction about the topic " Give Expert Advice". Project a picture that will depict the relationship and the marriage. Elicit answers from them based on the picture. Can you think of two things that help a marriage or relationship to be successful? Can you think two things that can cause problems in your marriage and relationship?
Delivering the hand outs Providing 2 minutes to the students to read the materials. ( A radio programme, giving advice how couples should manage their money.) Playing the audio track to the students Ask them organize the advice in order after they will have listened to the track.
Explaining them the use of because/ Since/ because of/ due to/ so/ so that Provide them with handouts Forming groups and ask them to complete sentences 1-7 with the reasons Jorg gives for his advice. Ask them to match each other answer. Play the audio track to help them check answers
Ask them to look at the highlighted expressions for giving reasons. Explain the noun and verb. Ask them formulating sentences using so, so that.
Help the students to get into groups. Provide them with handouts. Ask each individual group to complete the sentences by using their imagination. 1. It's important to....... 2. It's bad idea to....... 3. It's difficult to......... 4. It's easy to.............
The different groups will talk about their sentences. They will pass their opinions and say if they agree with one another. If there is a disagreement in any group, the group will come in front of the audience and debate.
The SS will be provided with topics. They brainstorm in groups. Each group will explain how to do something that they know. For examples: Investing money, writing a blog, taking care of a pet, doing a sport, being a good driver, raising children
Talk in groups what you have learned. Exchange the idea with other groups. From each group one will come and share the ideas with all groups. Error correction if needed.
