Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

write some sentences on the WB and ask ss to come up and mark the present simple sentences. preteach vocab by using the words in these sentences. examples; i get up and have breakfast.* you get home and go to bed. * we are living together. they are leaving home and going to study. i will be having lunch at 12:30.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

get ss to write 6 sentences about their own routines and discuss in pairs.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

reading activity ex7 pg23 and get ss to listen and check answers. students will answer the questions according to their own logic/opinion and then will be asked to discuss their answers as table groups. Next, we will listen to the recording and ss will check and discuss their answers in pairs. we will listen a second time and repeat the pair discussion and clarify any doubts or questions.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

elicit why- questions from students to the whiteboard and do controlled practice ex9a. give feedback. write statements about myself and ask students to look at ex9a. ask students, how would you ask me about this statement? write student answers on the board. examples; i live in gayrettepe. i work as a waitress. i get up at 7am. i start class at 9am. i get home at 5:30pm. i have dinner at 7-8pm.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

get ss to ask each other the questions in 9a and deal with any errors in the TL. select pairs in the class and get them to start a dialogue with eachother and/or with me. use ccqs to bring attention to errors and correct, then write corrected errors on the board.
