Description

In this lesson students learn about yes,no questions through asking about questions about nationality with the use of reading a text about countries .this lesson starts with a conversation about introducing a person followed by some practices of country names and nationalities.Practicing pronunciation and crossword tables in order to practice vocabulary.the lesson ends to a role play in order to practice all points of lesson e.g. countries, nationalities, new words and yes, no questions.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of language used for clariication in the context of travel and introducing oneself.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of travel, talking about nationalities

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

games

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

checking globe.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

showing different skin colors and different nationalities or even tourists of Imam square.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

playing voices of native people from different nationalities.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

showing different pictures of countries and people.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

maybe using actors and athletes pictures.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

a free conversation about favorite actors and actresses or aesthetes.
