Main Aims

  • By the end of this lesson students should be able to communicate their tastes in music, favourite season, favourite type of film, favourite free time activity, favourite thing about Izmir.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and review of music genres, seasons, type of films, free time activities, favourite things about a town. in the context of Entertainment preferences

Procedure

Lead-in (1-3 minutes) • To explain what is expected of them and provide them with the vocabulary of music genres

Explain the speaking corners game, write down the vocabulary on the white board and carry out the ICQ.

Play the game (2-3 minutes) • To get them to express their music tastes and the reasons for their choice.

Assign a music genre to each corner and get them to choose one and then communicate to one another in a group of two - why they like certain music genre.

Final stage (2-3 minutes) • To feel confident to tell the class about their music preferences.

At the end of the game to ask them to say why to the entire class why the like a certain music genre.
