Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of phrases to introduce yourself in the context of new student

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of things in the context of classroom
  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about introducing yourself in the context of new classroom
  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a introducing yourself in the context of new classroom

Procedure

Lead in (1-2 minutes) • To make sure the student is ready for the first lesson

-T introduces herself in Spanish. -Shows to the the student and asks him to introduce himself as well.

Highlighting the TL (3-5 minutes) • To highlight the TL that the student will use today in the lesson

-T will asks the student to listen and mark spanish when he hears spanish and marks "otras lenguas" when he hears other than spanish. - T asks the student to listen and translate what he hears. - T asks the student to listen and put the numbers for the correct sentences.

-T gives the student a HO with some people on it. T asks student to read it out loud and translate. After T tells S to fill exercice B and C. -After the student finishes the teacher asks questions in spanish emphasizing the conjugations.

Practice for verbs (1-5 minutes) • To practice the verbs to present one's self

- T gives the student a HO with words and tables. T asks the student to look at the words in the table and asks if he knows every word. T asks the student to fill the tables, then they check together.

Practice for useful language (1-5 minutes) • To teach student the useful sentences for him to use during the class

- T gives the student the sentences for him to use during his classes to be familiar with during the lesson. T asks him to speak spanish as much as possible during the lesson.

Palabras en espanol and the alphabet (10-20 minutes) • Practice for vocabulary and the alphabet

-T gives the student a HO and asks the student to look at the photos and tells the teacher the words he understands. - T tells the student to listen to the alphabet and repeat. - After that T wants the student to spell his name and spell the teacher's name. - T gives the S a HO p.14. T wants the S to match the words with the images and does drilling. - T gives the S a HO p.15. T tells S to listen write the words with the sound the S hears into the correct box.

Palabras en español 2 (5-8 minutes) • Drill and teach new vocabulary
