The main aim of the lesson is to practice prepositions of place by describing where possessions are.
Subsidiary Aims

The sub-aim is to teach vocabulary related to personal possessions and to listen for specific information to find out where these possessions are placed.
Procedure (40-45 minutes)
Show ss a bag full of objects (page 36) elicit words, individual and choral drilling. Put some of the objects "under" the table, "on" the floor, "in" the bag", "next to, in front of, behind" the chair. These phrases are drilled and written on the WB.
T pre-teaches the following vocabulary by using realia and pointing the photograph on the HO: Table Chair Sofa Black Brown Flatmates Ss listen two housemates. One of them cannot find his things and ss find which three objects he is looking for. Then, they listen again and find where the objects are and match words with letters: bag (A), wallet (B), glasses (C). Ss check answers in pairs. Then, whole class FB.
T gives the second HO about prepositions and asks where the cat is. Answers are drilled. T writes the form on the WB: "in, on, under, next to, behind, in front of + noun".
Demo the exercise for clear instructions. Ss make sentences by using a preposition of place and check their answers in pairs. Ss will give the answers.
T gives the instructions about the last HO which is divided as student A and B. In order to clarify the activity, T shows the pictures by using OHP and explains how to proceed. T folds the papers and says that they look the same but they are different. In the first picture, student A asks "Where are the keys" and student B finds the object and gives the answer: "They are on the floor". Then they change roles for the second picture. It is a whole class activity, ss walk around and talk to 6 people as there are 6 objects to find and six prepositions to use. During the activity; T monitors and takes notes for error correction.
