Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T gather students and pretends that he has a ball. T: HELLO, MY NAME IS OSMAN, I AM OSMAN. T throws the ball at one students and ask " WHAT IS YOUR NAME" When the students answers then T says " NICE TO MEET YOU" Students repeat the same by thowing the ball at different students.T T asks the students "WRITE YOUR NAME AND STICK IT ON YOUR CHEST" T throws the ball at a student and says " GOOD MORNING AYSE" S says "GOOD MORNING OSMAN" S repeats with the other students.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T writes on the board " HELLO, GOOD MORNING" T: WHAT IS HELLO OR GOOD MORNING? (They are greetings) T writes on top "GREETINGS" T: " WHAT ARE THE OTHER GREETINGS? WE SAY GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON, GOOD EVENING, GOOD NIGHT(MAKE A GESTURE), GOODBYE, BYE T displays the alphabet and points the letter and ask the students to say it. If the students don't know T tells them. T drills the letter with students. T writes on the board "HOW DO YOU SPELL MY NAME?" T wrties " O-S-M-A-N" T writes the numbers from 1 to 24, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 T ask them " PLEASE HELP ME TO SAY THE NUMBERS IN ENGLISH" T writes on the board" HOW OLD ARE YOU" and asks the student. if the student doesn't answer T models the sentence " I AM 45 YEARS OLD"

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T chooses 2 students to read the diologue. T asks " WHERE ARE THEY?"(AT CAFE) DO STEPHANY AND JOHN KNOW EACH OTHER?(NO) WHY?(BECAUSE THEY SAY NICE TO MEET YOU) T wites on the board "NICE TO MEET YOU" HOW OLD IS STEPHANY? HOW OLD IS JOHN? HOW DO YOU SPELL JOHN'S NAME? T asks the student "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?" and he predents that he doesn't understand and T says and writes on the board "I'M SORRY, I DON'T UNDERSTAND, COULD YOU REPEAT THAT, PLEASE? T: IN ENGLISH THERE ARE TWO MAGIC WORDS. WHAT ARE THEY?(PLEASE, THANKS AND THANK YOU) T: REPEAT THE DIAOLOG WITH YOUR PARTNER WORK IN PAIRS. YOU ARE TOGETHER. T asks two pairs to perform it

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T writes on the board " I AM JOHN" T: " WHAT IS I?(SUBJECT PRONOUNS? WHAT ARE THE SUBJECT PRONOUNS? WHAT IS AM?(VERB) WHAT IS THE ROOT OF THE VERB?(TO BE) WHAT IS JOHN?(NOUN) T writes " (+)AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCE, (-)NEGATIVE SENTENCE, (?)INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE T: YOU ARE, HE(MALE) IS, SHE IS(FEMALE), IT IS(ANIMALS AND THINGS), WE ARE(POINT THE STUDENTS), YOU ARE, THEY ARE. Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
