To provide practice of vocabulary related to places around town in the context of where I live.

To provide controlled and free speaking practice using the vocabulary
Procedure (32-44 minutes)
I aim to set the context by playing for 2minutes -the song -KINGSTON TOWN BY UB40. I would ask the sudents-where the singer wanted to be? In Kingston Town Then I would move on to elicit from the students meaning of the word Town,by asking CCQ's like- Is a town big or a city? Is village bigger than town?.And elicit answers from them.
In this stage,I would move on to show the slides showing different places in town like shops,beach,railway stations etc and get the students to answer by asking CCQ's if they are not familiar. Eg.For eg.I would show the pic of theatre and if they don't recognise it Ill prompt them with Yes or No Q like..do we watch movies here? Doe people perform live here? etc I will also pronounce and drill the words as I move through each slide.
In this stage I would do drilling and practice pronunciation of the words with the students. After this SS will do an activity where the students have to match the pictures of places with their names.ICQ and demo will be done at this stage.After SS finish their task I would ask them to peer check the answers. Later I would give them the answer key which as a surprise would be stuck under their table.After this SS will be asked to sit in closed pairs and ask each other Q's like -What's picture n? Where the patner would answer -It's a hotel.The students will ask and answer the whole set of Q.Later in open pairs SS will ask and answer Q.Montoring will be done to check language use.
In this stage the students will be given a HO where they have to write the name of their faourite place in their home country.ICQ will be done.Later they will tick the things in the box which are in this place and cross out the things that aren't.Teacher will do a demo with the students and do ICQ.After this the SS will be formed into 3groups and in their groups tell other students about their favourite place.
In this stage I aim to provide error-correction to the ss on their mistakes in pronunciation and speech.
