Description

In this lesson students will learn how to write "thank you " In different ways, for example it will be in the form of letter, card , e-mail or note. In the first of the lesson their will be a discussion between the learners each other and between them and the teacher, for warming them up, leading them in the lesson and for setteng the context. then we will move to a reading activity that will enable Ls to get a general understanding of the text . After that there will be a task that will clear for them the features of every genre. Then, there will be a fast writing that is something in which to base their new writing, giving them ideas to start writing professionally and it will be for motivating them to write. After that, their will writting task that will give the learners a chance to practice their writting skills. Finally, there will be a free practice in which they will talk to each other and shair there ideas about their writing.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and generate intereat in the topic of the lesson

Intering classroom and greeting the learners with a smile I'll play a short movie that will clear the context for them and it will work well as a warming up .then I'll lead them into the lesson through asking them to discuss in pairs how do you usually say thank you.

reading for gist (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading, and to enable learners to get a general understanding of the text

Frist, I'll give them a note,card,e-mail and a letter and ask them what is each person saying thank you for. Then,I'll ask them to complete the gaps with the sentence which I'll give it to them finally I'll discuss the answers with the whole class for giving them a feedback

genre analysis (3-5 minutes) • to develop lesrner's writing skill by drwaing their attention to features of the note,card, e-mail and letter

I'll tell them to underline the phrases used to say thank you in each text. Then,I'll ask them to discuss together which text is the most formal and which one is the least formal. then I'll discuss their answers as a whole class and giving them feedback

motivate students to write (3-5 minutes) • Orient learners to the type of text, and motivating them to write

It will through a qiuck vedio that will motivate them to write and determine the genre which the going to write after that I'll disscus what did they understand from the vedio and giving them a feedback.

free practice (8-10 minutes) • for giving them a chance to write and practice what they have learned

I'll ask them to write a thank you note or letter...(whatever the want), to the most helpfull person they want to thank him and why. if there was time I'll make them discuss their answers together ten discussing it as a whole class after that giving them a feedback.
