To provide product writing practice of a text messages in the context of casual conversations with friends
Subsidiary Aims

To provide review of language used for general texting phrases
Procedure (50-62 minutes)
T will greet and as he is talking he will receive a text message. T will look at his phone and talk about the text message he got. T will ask the SS to talk to their partners about the following questions; Do you call or text? Who do you text with? Do you text in English? WCFB
T will show the two text messages he received from his friends. T will give instructions and give the HO SS will answer questions about the two text messages. After peer check, T will get WCFB
T will highlight the useful language examples in the texts. And will try to elicit new ones and list them on the WB. "My friend had a bad day, how would I start my message by laughing or saying sorry?" Clarify meaning only with the ones SS don't understand
T will tell the SS that they will get to do their own examples of text messages. T will regroup pairs and give them message bubble sheets. T will ask SS to write a message to their partner and their partner to reply and complete 4 messages. T will ask SS to post their messages on the walls so that other pairs could compare their work. (They will also take notes as they are looking at others' work) T will put feedback sheets on each pairs messages so that other pairs can tick or cross)
T will use the feedback sheets to choose the conversations he is going to have error correction with. T will ask SS what is wrong with the texts to the SS first (referring to their notes). T will correct the parts SS couldn't figure out.
T will show an example of an e-mail with his tutor Jennifer. T will show that he used the same sentences from his texts(informal e-mail) After showing the structure, T will give students sheets of e-mail paper. T will ask SS to write their own e-mails with in the light of the example. T will ask SS to switch and read each others` work. T will look at a few examples and get WCFB
