In this lesson Ss learn about Health vocabulary through guided discovery based on listening record for a nurse answers some questions about health. the lesson starts with showing a picture and ask Ss some questions about it. followed by an exercise in which ask Ss to make a list of health problems. then listen to a record taking about some health problems and how can we treat them.finally there is some controlled practice and free practice .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

show a picture of someone who suffers from some health problems .ask students to focus on a photo. ask students 1-how is the man? 2-is he okay? 3-has he got some health problems? 4-name these problems.

Exposure (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

ask students to make a list of health problems. give them an example to help them.student check in pair then make them delete the similar and give me the list

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

present the new vocabulary according to these steps : 1- elicit( show Ss a picture of the new words and elicit the name and meaning ) 2-model (pronounce each word ) 3-drill ( Student repeat after me ) 4-concept check (ask students ccqs to check their understanding) 5- write and highlight phonology ( write the word on the board and show them stress )

Controlled Practice (fill the gaps ) (3-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

give Ss work sheet to fill the gaps individually then ask them to check in pair

Free Practice(writing ) (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

ask students to write about a health problem that happened to him and how he treat it. give them example then make them write three or four sentence

Warmer/Lead-in for listening (pre-listening) (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

ask students to read the health quiz quickly then circle the correct one. tell them there may be more than one then check in pair

listening (4-8 minutes) • collect information from the record

ask students to listen to the record . then circle the correct answer according to the record and write notes about other information the nurse gives .students discuss in pairs . if students find listening challenging play the record again and stop it after each question to discuss .

Free Practice(speaking) (2-4 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

ask students to speak about health problems and how they can treat it according to the lesson
