Procedure (38-45 minutes)
Show ss some famous places around the world. Ask ss think about the activities they could do if they visited these places. In pairs ss ask each other "Which place do they want to visit most? Why?".
Ss read the postcards to match them with their pictures. Ss check their answers in pairs. T gives his feedback.
Ss look at a model of postcard and elicit the features of postcard. T ask ss to elicit the topic tenses. Ss read the postcard from New York and decide where the words in the box should go. What type of words are usually left out? Ss check their answers in pairs. Ss read the postcard from Rome and circle the words which can be left out. Ss check their answers in pairs. Ss imagine that they are on holiday and they are going to write postcards to their best friends. Ss start writing the first draft.
