Procedure (42-54 minutes)
T will start the lesson by asking the Ss "What is the first thing you notice when you meet someone for the first time?" Ss will discuss and talk
T will give Ss a handout Ss will classify the words: Words they know / words they don't know - can't read / words they are not sure about. Ss will have 4 - 5 minutes to finish the task T will monitor and take notes Ss will compare and check with their peers (2 minutes)
T will project the words that the Ss dealt with in the previous test task Each word will be accompanied with a picture to help the Ss understand its meaning. T will focus on the word that Ss had problems with in the previous task. Eliciting / parts of speech / drilling, modeling, and help with PRON
T will divide the board into two sections Words of the TL will be stuck around the classroom T will divide the Ss into two groups the "Has Got" group and the "Be" group Each group will have to take the words and stick them in the right section on the board. (3 minutes) T will do some oral correction with the help of CCQs "Do we say he has dark hair?" Yes "Do we say he has bald?" No "Do we say he is slim? Yes T will elicit from Ss. We use has got/ have got with nouns. We use "be" with adjectives
T will divide the Ss into 5 / 6 pairs by giving them different colored cards, the ones with the same color will work together Ss will be given HOs Ss will fill in the blanks with information about their favorites artist without writing his/her name Ss will work with another pair / different colored cards One student will describe the artist and the other will have to guess.
Ss will think about someone they met for the first time and they liked Ss will work in pairs Ss will describe to each other how this person looks like
