Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a game in the context of getting to know eachother

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of language used for conditional sentences in the context of ice breaker game

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T introduces herself to the students and talks about what kind of lesson they will have in this year.

Useful Language and Productive Task (15-20 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Write on the board the beginning of the sentence "Change your seats...."and do the first one by yourself as a teacher.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

After playing the ice-breaker game,write some incorrect sentences on the board and tell them to discuss in pairs and try to find the mistakes in the sentences by themselves.Teacher corrects the mistakes on the board.
