Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T asks the student about her city then asks the students where the Ss are from. T writes the name of three cities on the WB and gets the Ss tell some sentences by comparing it with the others

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T writes the name of three cities on the WB and gets the Ss tell some sentences by comparing it with the other cities.T gives the students time to talk in pairs or groups and elicits superlatives as much as possible

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will elicit some superlatives and write them on the board with the help of students.I will write `-est `and `the most`with another color.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will elicit the structure of superlatives from and ask them why we use` est `or` iest` or `the most ` for different adj .By asking some CCQs or giving students time to discuss it in groups to guess it and then I drill it and practice the intonation and stress in groups and individually

Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss are going to have a HO and they are asked to match the cities with the photos in part a .In part b ,they will read a short article about a travel survey and will complete 4 sentences ..Check in pair then WC

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss are asked to talk or boast about the cities in their countries by using superlatives in pairs, in groups

Free Practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

If there is extra time we can play rock paper scissors in groups the winners give a word, for example, a name of a city, the loser should make a sentence by using superlatives.
