Main Aims

To introduce the passive voice grammar in context of news headlines.
Subsidiary Aims

SS should be able tp produce sentences in passive voice in riting and speaking.
Procedure (36-37 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Link to the lesson before and elicit examples.
Test #1 (10-15 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language
Write an example of a sentence in passive. See if the ss can figure out the grammarpoint. Elicit the form. Drill examples.
Teach (8-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage
Ask ss to rewrite the sentences in Ex.1+ 2 P63. Individual work. Monitor, circulate. Then they compare in pairs. Give the answer key. Feedback. Discussion. Give further clarification.
Test #2 (10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
