Ss will be able to use some reading strategies such as skimming for the general idea or reading fro details. Ss will be able to comprehend some adjectives and produce them in a meaningful task.
Subsidiary Aims

Ss will be able to brainstorm and produce the language in a meaningful context.
Procedure (37-48 minutes)
T starts introducing himself and his favourite place to visit and asks some Ss to introduce themselves and share which country they want to visit.
Ss will start with a listening activity in which they have to order the months of the year. T asks some questions to check Ss comprehension to scaffold Ss’ production in the following activities. ICQ1: What is this month? ICQ2: What is next month? ICQ3: What was last month? ICQ4: What is the 4th month of the year?
Ss are given a classroom calendar (Activity 1.B) in which they are to name each month of the year. After naming the months, they will involve in peer check. Following, T starts a chain drill and asks a student’s birthday. Moreover, T encourages the student to ask the same question to another student. As Ss ask each other’s birthdays, they are supposed to write the name of their classmates. The next activity (Activity 1.C) requires students to categorize the months into summer and winter months in Turkey. ICQ1: When is your birthday? ICQ2: What months are summer/winter?
Ss are asked to read the text & sub-titles quickly and guess what might be the title in PW.
Ss are supposed to read the text again and match the target lexis (adjectives) to the related pictures (Activity 2B) . They check their responses in PW. This time, Ss read the text more carefully and answer some comprehension questions (2C). ICQ1: Is it good to go to Dubai in August? ICQ2: What is Rome like in July? ICQ3: What is the south of Mexico like in October? Is it a good time to go there? ICQ4: I want to go skiing in Canada. When is the best time?
Ss in groups of 4 are supposed to prepare a brochure about the weather related to a country for the visitors coming to the country (Activity 3). They have to suggest when to go there. They are encouraged to use the newly learned language and work collaboratively. Moreover, they are to find a creative title for the brochure.
