In this lesson students learn about the future form through guided discovered based on a listening text about the future . the lesson starts with a discussion about dreams and future plans . This is followed by listening where students listen and relate the plans with the future .Finally there is some controlled practice through sentences reformulation and free practice ,

Materials

Abc listen and complete the sentences

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of To provide clarification and practice of grammar in the context of future forms. in the context of future plans .

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide detailed and specific information listening practice using a text about success. in the context of the future plans .

Procedure

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

The teacher will play the recording for the students and tell them to answer the next question (next task) but first the teacher will let them to check the vocabulary in their mini-dictionary teacher focus students' attention on the photos of the six students before they listen . students check their answers in pairs (check your answer with your partner) before checking as a whole class.

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher will put the pictures on the board and ask students " what does these pictures refer to? or what do these pictures mean ?? " . The students will try to guess the answer .

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will tell them a story about my self by using the forms of the future to talk about my future plan and talk about some thing that i want to do it in the future.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher will clarify the forms of the future refers to the three forms of the future and show the differences between them .the teacher will show the three forms of the future (the present continuous ,be+going to +v1,will+v1) then , the teacher asks students to give him some examples using the three forms of the future

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The teacher will give the students the second task to them and ask them to listen and complete the sentences "Listen and complete the sentences " The students will answer the questions and then the teacher will ask them to check together and then the teacher will say the complete sentences to check the final answers .

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The teacher will get students to underline the verbs forms in sentences 1,7 and 11 .Then the teacher will explain the following to predict ,an intention .The teacher will ask students to work in pairs to try to complete the rules to differentiate among the three future forms .

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The teacher will ask students to choose one sentence of twelve from the box and ask him or her to tell his or her partner to speak about it
