Listening: to provide key information to tell the difference between the simple past and the past continuous.
Procedure (44-58 minutes)
T will ask Ss some questions about himself/herself to refresh Ss' memory about him/her and connect the facts to tell an anecdote.
T will tell an interesting situation that he has had in Turkey to draw Ss' attentions then Focus Ss' attentions on the photos of three people and the table .Explain that they will here these people being interviewed about their past experiences.Focus attention on the example and tell them what to do with the table below.
Use the listening ex 1 to expose Ss to the TL .Listen to the interview and connect the key information from each person's story.
to get Ss to think about the meaning : grammar ex1 and work with the form of the tense using the PPT slides.
T will get Ss to do ex 1-2 to check if they tell the difference between the past simple and past continuous.
apply new way to do an activity by using plickers cards and have Ss do the drills to compete with each other.
Get back to the listening part and focus Ss attention to write their own stories using the form of tenses are introduced then tell each other.
