Description

In this lesson, Ss will learn some vocabulary for clothes and how they can categorise the vocabulary for themselves into (clothes, footwear, accessories, and Jewellery). They will follow this up with a short speaking, asking and answering some questions.

Materials

Abc matching
Abc The picture on SB p.6, EX 1 a
Abc Ss Bk p.151, ex a & c
Abc SsBk p 8, pronunciation ex 2e

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice
  • To provide Ss with practice of vocabulary for clothes and on what certain situations we wear them.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide Ss with practice of speaking for fluency in the context of what we wear on different situations.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To activate Ss existing knowledge of the topic. To get Ss interested in the topic of the lesson.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To test Ss current knowledge and ability to use the language and identify what the issues are.

T will ask Ss to look at the picture to match the items of clothing and the words.p.6, EX 1 a Ss check in pairs WCF

Teach (14-18 minutes) • To clarify issues Ss had with meaning so they understand it better. To clarify issues Ss had with pronunciation so they know how to say it better.

T tells Ss to go to p.l5l, and look at the pictures and the words. Make sure Ss know what these words mean and how to pronounce them. Then, get Ss to do ex a in pairs. Feedback : Give Ss an answer key , and have them check. In small groups, they will categorise the vocabulary for themselves into (clothes, footwear, accessories, and Jewellery) WCF

Test #2 (3-5 minutes) • To provide oral practice focused on using the language.

Check students' use of the target language by asking some questions starting with : Can you think of ………… ?

Free practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language and expand what Ss have learnt .

Elicit from the class how to say the questions on SsBk p 8, pronunciation ex 2e. Get Sts to ask T the questions. Then in pairs, Sts ask and answer the questions. Get some feedback from various pairs.
