Procedure (23-45 minutes)
I will show students some pictures and I will ask them some questions about them. The pictures are about tourist places in Istanbul. The questions are: Where are these places? Are these places nice to visit next weekend? Why? What are the names of these places?
Students will be asked to do a guided discovery about making future plans using ( be going to inf.) They will be asked to read three sentences and to do three activities about the meaning, the form and the pronunciation of be going to. Activity 1 is a yes/ no questions activity 2 multiple choice questions activity 3 drilling for pronunciation
I will ask students to get in pairs in order to ask and answer questions about future plans. They will be asked to form more questions. For example: Student A: Are you going to going to watch a football match tomorrow? Student B: Yes, I'm going to watch a football match tomorrow. No, I'm not going to watch a football match tomorrow.
Students will be asked to do an activity called"Find someone who ........". They will go around and ask questions to everyone. This will help them to practice making and answering questions. Then, they will tell the student next to him about other friends' future plans. This will help them to practice the statement form of the rule. For example: ( Name) is going to buy a new mobile phone next month.
students will be asked to work individually in order to write about five things they plan to do in the future. Then, he will tell his friends about the five things he plans to do in the future. For example: I'm going to buy a new car next month. This activity will help students to practice the grammar rule freely.
