Procedure (45-45 minutes)
Display PowerPoint presentation about places to visit in Tunis. Ask ss what the slides are about. Pairwork: What can make you want to visit the city of Tunis? (2 mins). Elicit answers from ss.
Match the vocabulary items to their corresponding pictures. Demonstrate the task before passing the handouts to the ss. Pre-teach: cathedral, cliffs, island, castle, B&Bs. Use pictures for understanding. Drill words and highlight stressed syllable on the W/B.
Ss are divided into 3 groups depending on the number of ss attending. Each group gets a paragraph about one of three destinations in Britain. SS read text individually for 2 mins and then in their groups match pictures (those of the vocabulary task) to their paragraphs. (2mins) Finally, SS report to the others what their city is and what it is known for using pictures simultaneously.
Ss read questions first. Check if all questions are understood. SS listen. Check if they need to listen again. Peer check. Display answerkey with OHP.
SS work in groups to choose a place to spend the weekend at and discuss questions in the sheets. Ss form new groups and take it in turns to report to the others.
Write examples of good ss' language on the W/B. Write examples of errors and work with the ss to improve them.
