Procedure (27-43 minutes)
Elicit the key word "go" to engage SS with the following task. provide modeled sentence to familiarize the SS with the following question. (when I'm happy, i go to the sea.... what about you?) SS will create answers for several pictures presented on PPP with a question ( what do i do?)
CQs related to previous pictures to On board, T will present the expressions related to the target language to remove any obstacle SS may find to engage with the following tasks. go-to : /gəʊ tuː/ go-for /gəʊ fɔː/ go out /| ɡəʊ aʊt |/ go + ing modeled pronunciation, drill chorally and solo
individually, SS will complete the sentences 1-6 with some words provided to them in the text that will familiarize them with the context and remove any obstacle they might find. T models one sentence with SS. SS will have 2 minutes to finish the task. In pair work SS will check together for similar answers. FB will be provided with the teacher.
SS will be reminded of the expressions from the led-in exercise (e.g. go out with - go to ...) to remove any obstacle from engaging with the following task. T will present table on P.P.P divide into 9 parts, each has lexicon that matches with a specific collection from the expressions. (E.g. Go to Concerts) . GW, PW, SS will be provided with small sheets including expressions (go to - go for a - go out with ...) to stick them with the correct lexicon on board practicing one example with the teacher. SS will have 4 minutes to finish the task. FB with the teacher to check the correct answer. CCQs, individually covering the sheets, SS will repeat the expressions with the correct words.
PW/GW SS will practice the expressions through matching 'questions and answers' exercise which will allow them to identify the expressions in question form to gain better understanding for the context uses. SS will have 4 minutes to do the task, then they come to each other's tables to compare their answers. Teacher's FB on the task to provide affirm correct answers..
PW, SS will practice speaking fluency by writing five questions to ask each other, each S will ask and answer questions. ( How often do you go for .....? where do you go.....?) SS will have four minutes to prepare the question before engaging in the task.
