Procedure (34-45 minutes)
T projects the following on OHP, gives personal examples then asks Ss to discuss with partner -One place where you would like to go -One person who you would like to meet -One thing which makes you happy
-T gives handout, tells Ss to read and try to recall what the words were that Lola was trying to guess -Ss fold over questions at the bottom, read script -T elicits nurse, mobile, clever, a supermarket, blonde, turn off -read again and answer questions at the bottom (who, where, which) -Turn on OHP for answer key, ask what words we stress, mark on WB and drill
-Give Ss exercise 2 to work on in pairs, T checks answers with whole class -T writes on board: we use who for a person, which for a thing and where for a place CCQs: Would I say reading is a skill who is very useful? (no) What about Istanbul is a city where is very large? (no) Could I say Turkish is a language which I would like to learn? (yes) -Project exercise on the board -give Ss a different coloured pen for each word (who, which, where) let them come up to the board and fill in one blank then give pen to a different Ss -Ss change pairs (every second person stand up and rotate around one) -T gives Ss exercise 3, when finished Ss swap sheets and check each other's answers, T monitors and provides hot error correction
-Give Ss cutouts and let them to try to guess each other’s cutouts without using the word on the cutout -either give two each and let them move around / or do it in groups (depending on class size)
-Write who, which, where on the board -ask Ss: Who is your favourite singer? Who do you usually sit next to in class? Where is your house? Where did you go last vacation? Which type of movie do you prefer? Which do you like better, cats or dogs? -Ss take a few minutes to write down two or three questions for who, which, where -Ss mingle and ask each other their questions
