Description

In this lesson, students will learn useful lexis about the meanings and the opposites personality adjectives. They will also learn the word stress of the personality adjectives. They will learn the suffixes and prefixes of adjectives and how to pronounce them correctly. They will also listen and write the adjectives in the correct column.

Procedure (31-45 minutes)

lead in/ building context (3-5 minutes) • to interest in the the topic of personality adjectives

I will ask students about the personality adjectives of the characters of the previous lesson. This will be done through a simple worksheet and the students' task is just to write the names of the two characters.

Reading (7-10 minutes) • to practice reading for specific information

I will ask students to work in pairs ( rally coach strategy ) and complete the definitions with the adjectives.

highlighting target languages( prefixes) (7-10 minutes) • To highlight suffixes so that learners know the use and the meanings of them.

SS will be asked to work individually and then in pairs in order to read the adjectives and classify them according to the suitable prefix.

clarifying word stress (7-10 minutes) • to help learners know the meaning and pronunication of the word stress of some personality correctly

students will be ask about word stress and how to pronounce words correctly.

language practice (7-10 minutes) • to write adjectives describing children in a family. Also to provide free oral practice about their personalities.

students will listen to a journalist talking about a family. Then they will be asked to write adjectives describing them. They will check with their partners. Also, there will be a freer practice about adjectives describing their personalities.
