In this lesson Ss will speak about a close and important person.They will listen to a song about friendship.They will listen for gist and listen for details. They will also listen to an anecdote about someone's friend and use it as their guide when the speak about their best friends

Procedure

Lead in ( 2 min ) • To introduce myself to the students and explain that the lesson will be speaking

T. Introduces himself to the students and explains that they are going to learn how to speak about their friends.

Introduction ( 4 mins ) • To arise students interest in the topic and prepare them for listening

T. writes the title of the song on the board " Stand By Me" T reads the task ex. 3 T. explains that ss are going to listen to something and answer the question. Ss listen and answer ex. 3 on page 9

Pre-task to Listening ( 3 mins) • Prepare the ss for the Listening

Listening For Gist • To listen and find the main idea ( 3 )

T. plays the first verse of the song and asks ss to do ex. 3 Ss choose the best interpretation for the verse Ss check answers

Listening for details • To listen for specific information ( 8 mins )

The students use the song on page 9 and T. explains that they need to read and find the extra words. T asks ss to check the extra words and eliminate ( delete) them from the song T. elicits feedback T. plays the audio Ss listen the whole song and check their answers Peer checking

Listening for details ( 10 mins) • To listen for specific information

T. asks ss : What do you say abot your friends . T. asks a volunteer to talk about his best friend. T. explains the task for doing ex. 1/ page 9 Ss answer ex 1. Ss listen to check answers . Ss listen again if it is needed

Speaking • To speak in details about an important friend ( 20 mins )

Ss refer to ex.1 page 9 to help them think T. sets a model for the students' task. T. divides ss into pairs and asks them to tell each other about their best friends. T.

Feedback • To wrap up ( 5 mins )

volunteer ss stand up and talk about their best friends .. Other ss ask questions about that friend
