To introduce students “have/has got” in the positive & negative to describe personal possessions
Subsidiary Aims

To develop their speaking skills using target language.

To provide students vocabulary related to the context of personal possessions (computer, television, DVD player, personal stereo, radio, etc.)
Procedure (40-55 minutes)
Introduce yourself and learn the Ss names.
Show the picture of Sally & Bill and ask Ss what they see in the picture. Ss in small groups answer about the things in the picture e.g. long dress, digital camera, etc. w/c FB
Put some items from the listening/reading about Sally & Bill from the previous lesson on the w/b. Get Ss to remember if they were Sally’s, Bill’s or both. Ss in small groups talk about what they remember. w/c FB
Elicit the TL – e.g. Sally’s got a new mobile phone. Elicit all forms – positive & negative on the w/b. Drill focusing on the contractions. Ss in pairs do ex 5. w/c FB Ss in pairs do ex 7. w/c FB
Introduce the personal possessions lexis set. Ss in pairs complete the lexis HOs by filling in the vowels in the words. w/c FB
Give Ss WkBk ex 4 (fold it in half before the lesson) so that Ss can only see the chart. Ss in small groups to talk about what each person has got using the TL & referring to the chart. Ss unfold the HO – in small groups they fill in the gaps with the correct form of the TL. w/c FB
Remind Ss about Sally & Bill from the previous lesson. Show the picture in ex 9 & set the context that they are in a shop answering questions for a survey. Ss work in small groups to say if they think each person has got or hasn’t got the items in the list. They write yes or no in your guess columns. FB Ss listen to track R2.3. Ss check in small groups. w/c FB
Ask students to talk about what they have got or haven't got in their houses. Ss individually talk about the items in their houses.
