To introduce and give practice in "have/has got" yes/no questions &short ans through the context of talking about personal possession.

Procedure (47-52 minutes)
Introduce yourself, write your name on the board. Put some pictures around the name to make them ask questions to you. i.e. Have you got a dog? Aims of this activity are; 1)To interact with them in an authentic context 2)To make them practice the structure they have seen in the previous lesson. 3)To check accuracy and pronunciation. Pay attention to the stress. Use fingers to check a&p if needed. Write one example question and short answer to the board. O Have you got a computer. Yes, I have. p.s. Show them where the stress is via intonation, gestures.
Give Ss exercise 10- page 15. Get them work together to fill in the gaps. (Give 5mins) Monitor them. Take whole class FB.
(WkBk p11 ex5) Ss work together to rewrite the questions in a) (Give 4 mins) Take w/c FB. Then refer Ss back to chart WkBk ex4 get Ss ask&ans the qus -& write the short answers in b) (Give 4 mins) Check ans by getting Ss ask and ans the qus open class.
Give Ss the HOs from pp 105 or 113. (split around the class 50/50) Demo how to do a Find Someone Who activity by mingling and asking qus to some Ss. Check understanding. Ss mingle and ask each other "Have you got a ...?" (Give 7mins) Monitor for good use of TL & to check Ss are talking to more than one person, redirect when needed BUT don't get too involved. When time is up, get all Ss to sit down & take some general FB - e.g. Who's got a computer?
Elicit the word "twins" by showing a pic. Set up a pw activity for Ts Bk p 140. (Give names to pairs to check if they understood) Introduce the characters, make sure they know Harry is a boy, Harriet is a girl so make them ask She/He qus. Explain how many differences there are, demo the activity. Ss work together to ask & answer. Monitor. Get FB, encourage Ss to make sentences such as, Harriet's got a diary but Harry hasn't.
