To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation (Describing two pictures of two rooms) in the context of describing a house
Procedure (37-49 minutes)
-Remind them the advertisement which they did before. Give HO-1. Ss work in group and underline two things that they think are good about the flat. -Elicit the answers.
-Show Ss Slide-1. Explain that who talks in the dialogue and why? -Give HO-2. -Ss listen and put the things in order. Feedback: 1st-Peer-checking 2nd -Students come to the board and put the words in order according the dialogue.
-Ss try to remember whether the sentences are true or false. Ss Listen again and check their answers Feedback: 1st-Peer-checking 2nd-Write the answers on the board. Ss will check their answers. *Ss can ask question if their answers are wrong. Play suitable part of the record get Ss to find the answer.But do not spend much time for it.
Write on the board some sentences from the text that is used "some" "any" "a" Example: There is a cooker. There are some chairs. -Use CCQ`s and elicit the meaning.
-Use CCQ`s and elicit the form of the sentences. -Give HO-3. Ss fill the gaps with "some" "any" "a" Feedback: 1st -peer-checking 2nd- Show the Slide-3. Ss come to board and the answers on the board. -Drill the sentences and get Ss to repeat them.
-Give Ss HO-4 -Ss work individually and fill the gaps with "some" "any" "a". Feedback: 1st-Peer-checking (Ss can do it in group three) 2nd- give the answers to Ss. (one for each pair/group) *Ss can ask the questions if they will not understand why their answers are wrong. Elicit the answers from the class
-Put Ss in pairs A/B. Give them picture-A and Picture-B. They will make questions to ask a student from group A/B about his/her picture. -Monitor, take note the errors to piece of paper and use them for delayed-error correction. *if there isn't enough time put Ss in group three. Give the pictures. Ss work in group and find the differences between the pictures.(see above in "Anticipated Problems")
