To make sure students understand the meaning: Ask CCQ's and write answers under each model sentence. (red) "when did Marco start working at CSP?" "Does Marco work there now?" "when did Lauren start working at CSP?" "Does Lauren work there now?" To make sure students understand the Form: Ask the students why we use since in the first sentence and circle it. (green) Draw a table with since on the left side and write 2008. (green) Ask the students why we use for in the second sentence and circle it. (green) Put for on the right side of the table and write three months. (green) Tell students to think of more examples to complete the table in pairs. WCF on the board ( in green) To make sure students understand the pronunciation: Ask the students what I've means and write it above ( in black) Repeat sentence - drill Use CCQ's - "do we say I HAVE worked here since 2008?" Sound the second model sentence. Show that for becomes a [f] sound that is connected with the number
Show the students practice 1. Ask the students to add for or since to 5 sentences individually. ICQ - "are we working in pairs?" - "no" Give the HO, give students 3-4 mins. Check in pairs. WCF - Select students to read the completed sentences
I've worked.. I've lived... elicit more answers from students Hold up the blue piece of paper. Tell the students that they will write 3 sentences about themselves.
