in this lesson students work on grammar and speaking . the lesson starts with grammar about “there is and there are “ students focus on the four questions and do them in pairs then play the listening for them to check their answers .then I teach them the rules then they go through the practices after the grammar I put them in pairs and tell them to go to communication THE Ghost Room A on page 104 and B on page 109 , give students a minute to look at the picture and focus on the questions ask and answer the questions. Then I put them in groups of 4 or 5 then give them a question about their house and the place where they are living then give them a minute to write their answers on paper then I ask them to share their opinions.

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of house and apartment

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

first i ask the students to focus on the questions and do them in pairs then play the listening for them and check the answers

Grammar (8-10 minutes) • To provide controlled practice of there was ...... there were .......

i ask the students to go to Grammar bank on page 138 i ask them to focus on the example sentences then go through the rules then i ask them to do the practices and then check their answers

Semi controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide a semi controlled speaking exercise

I put them in pairs and tell them to go to communication THE Ghost Room A on page 104 and B on page 109 , give students a minute to look at the picture and focus on the questions ask and answer the questions.

Free speaking (5-8 minutes) • To develop oral fluency and accuracy through a free speaking task

Then I put them in groups of 4 or 5 then give them a question about their house and the place where they are living then give them a minute to write their answers on paper then I ask them to share their opinions.
