Description

in this lesson, students are going to learn how to write description letter based on the reading text about MY FAVORITE PHOTO .THE lesson strats with talking about favorite photo. this is followed by reading where the students match the question with paragraphs then fill in blanks with prepositions. ask student to write about their favorite photo and answer the five question in the right order. check the description for mistakes.(grammar, punctuation,spelling).

Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice in the context of MY FAVORITE PHOTO

  • To provide review of prepositions and how to use them in writing

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Introduce yourself, write your name on the board. Say- Discuss with a partner the different ways we can write to someone who is far away. Ex. letters, emails, texting, blogging... Ask Ss for answers and what way they prefer and why?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

1. hand out the papers. Say- "match the questions with paragraphs 1-5". you 4-5 minutes give them another paper and ask them to fill the blanks. you have 3 minutes.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

what's the difference between texting and writing a letter. which one do you prefer? why?

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

ask them to write about their own favorite photo answer the question in the right order. say: writings should include five paragraphs. and if you have photo stick to it.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

check their writings for mistakes.(grammar,punctuation spelling). show your writing to another student. is the photo or writing similar in any way with yours?
