Procedure (43-55 minutes)
- set the pictures on the board - tell them to say whatever they see in the pictures - lead them to give more information about the verb they use - write the spoken adverbs on the board - have a review over what they know about adverbs
- set them in pairs to get ready to start the lesson - set the first activity on the board - give them time to find the answers in pairs - feedback
-by asking CCQs check students understanding of the meaning of each adverb - try to put the adverb of the first sentence in different places together - show them that adverbs in English can go in several different positions - make it clear and emphasize that adverbs cannot come between the verb and object e.g she drove badly the car - check the pronunciation and the stressed syllable of each given adverb in each sentence - drill
- make it clear that, we speak in group of words. This makes what we say easier to understand. -write the first sentence on the board- - point out the division between the two groups - model natural and unnatural groupings - set the next sentence on the board and the other one - set them in pairs to work on the grouping together - play the listening track - give them 1-2 mnts to decide on groups of words - check as a class
