I will start the lesson with the pic of Charlie Chaplin presented via PowerPoint then elicit from Ss his nationality and his job. * what is Charlie's nationality? (English) * what was his Job? (An actor)
I will get Ss cards that has that has the sentences of the famous people which is on p.78 (1 a and 1 b) with the pics displayed on WB via PPT. In groups, I will let them listen to the recording first then I will ask them to match the sentences with the pics on WB. I will give them 10 minutes. I will play the recording again if Ss couldn't catch the info in the first time. After they are done, answer key will be hanging in 2 places on the wall.
After that, as a highlight, Ss will get another HO for ( 2 a and b) then listen to recording 2.57 (2 a) with the pics still on WB via PPT, I'll pause after each sentence and ask who it goes with. Ss will have time to think of the answer. answer key will be shown via PPT. Then listen to recording 2.58 to know how to say the years. * For ex 2a, Ss will be nominated to come on the WB and tick right on the pic of the correct personality. * For ex 2b, Ss will drill the years.
I will introduce Ss to adjectives and via a HO, I will elicit from them that adjectives give us more information about people or things and that usually they come before nouns. After they work out the meaning and form, we will drill some of the nationalities.
p 107 and 111
Lastly, I will let Ss test each other (ex d in p.78) as a semi-controlled practice if we still have time.
