To get students to know some vocabulary using the tword THAT by looking at some pictures and discussing their context,
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide students with speaking practices in the context of refering to things they see and responding to what someone said by using the word "That."
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
To get students interested in the topic by showing them some pictures and try to make them guess what they are doing? and where are they?. After that, as a feedback, they will match each photo by its right answer.
In pairs, Students are going to do the exercise 2 in which they will practice using the word THAT for things the see, to demonstrate items in the picture provided in the exercise using specific expressions, such as: That's a .... I think that's a .... What's that? I don't know. For example by saying: That's a policeman. using
In pairs, Students are going to do the exercise 3 in which they will practice using the word THAT to reply to people, by matching the sentences with their right answer.
In pairs, Students are going to cover the answers in the previous exercise, then, As will say the sentence and Bs will try to remember the answers.
Students are going to work in pairs As will have their own sentences and the same thing for Bs. They will ask each other and take turns to read out their sentences.
