Procedure (47-64 minutes)
-The teacher writes down some lesson shapes on the board and asks the students to guess what they are. -The students talk among themselves and reach a consensus. -He elicits the word "lesson shape".
-The teacher asks the students to look at the students progress. -The students discuss among themselves how this relates to a lesson plan. -There is a whole class feedback.
-The teacher writes the stage names for the page 125 in the form of a lesson plan. -The students become familiar with the concept of the lesson plan stages, and controlled vs. free practice.
-The teacher gives them the handout and asks the students to find the corresponding lesson plan shape on the paper. -The students share the class what they think the answer is. -The teacher elicits the function of the other lesson shapes.
-The teacher gives the students the page "process of learning". -He asks the students to find examples of the restricted input. -The students discuss in groups and share the class what they found out. -The teacher then asks the students to think of some examples of the restricted output. -The students tell the class what they understood. If there is time, the teacher does it so: -The teacher gives the students the page "process of learning". -The students stand up and go around the class asking other students for some examples of the restricted input/output. -The students share the class what they understood.
-The teacher creates groups. -The teacher hands out some pages from an English textbook and asks the students to identify the main aim and sub-aim and the relevant lesson shape. -The students discuss the task and share their findings with the class.
-The teacher asks the students to roughly adapt the book page they have to the lesson plan. -The students talk among themselves and later share their ideas with the class.
