Procedure (43-53 minutes)
The teacher will greet the students. The main aim of the Lead-in is to make the students curious about the context of the task. The teacher will therefore, ask the students what did they do the past weekend and find out if anyone of them went to the restaurant. The teacher will elicit answers by asking them what is the first thing you check when you go to the restaurant. The teacher will tell the students that the lesson is about the things they did or saw recently.
The teacher will write new vocabulary on the WB and ask the students to read them. At this point the teacher has to drill the words and make sure that the students can pronounce them accurately. The students will then work in pairs by sharing with each other which restaurant they have been to and to specify if the restaurant was expensive or cheap. Students will write the answers on the WB.
* Ss will be shown a picture of an expensive restaurant and a cheap restaurant on the WB. Ss will stand in a circle and ask the person standing next to them if they went to the restaurant on Saturday and if the food was expensive? This is Controlled Practice Activity because Ss will read the sentences from the Board. Ss will be able to practice new vocabulary. A. Did you go to the restaurant on Saturday? B. Yes, I went to the restaurant on Saturday. A. Was the food expensive? B. No, the food was cheap. * The teacher will give Ss notes on recording 2.25 for reading.[Appendix 1] She had seen Ss struggle to remember the text. Ss will read the text for gist, thereafter listen to track 2.25.
Ss will read individually, thereafter work in pairs to answer True or False sentences. The teacher will give students Answer key for providing FB.
* Ss will stand in a circle, pick out one sentence and read it aloud.
