Description
In this lesson, students are going to be introduced to grammar, specifically, to the difference between the past perfect simple and continuous through a text then some examples. After that, they are going to do some pronunciation practices focusing on irregular verb forms.

To explore grammar through reading the the text " Nightmare over the Atlantic ".

To encourage students to be more productive and speak out their understanding of the lesson by allowing peer-checking after each task.
Procedure (37-49 minutes)
Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
To do a warm up by trying to discuss the meaning of the word incident
Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation
To expose students to the TL in context through reading the text " Nightmare over the Atlantic "
Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language
To encourage the students to notice TL and answering the exercise.
Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
To discuss the difference between the highlighted verbs then focus them on MFP of the TL
Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
To check students' understanding of meaning and form by doing an exercise on Grammar Bank A3.
Semi-Controlled & freer practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice
To further consolidate the TL and allow some production through an exercise
